Bison is a 40-year old company, started by three engineers from the Foote Jones plant in Downers Grove, IL. They manufacture fractional HP gearboxes: worm, helical and spur types. Bison Electric was purchased in late 2002 and moved from Elgin, IL to St. Charles, IL.
Bison shared their strategy for the future and what roles we as suppliers will play in the industries they service. The suppliers enjoyed a plant tour and a view of Bisons capabilities in manufacturing, testing and R & D. Awards were presented to those suppliers who helped Bison Gear achieve a more competitive place in the power transmission market. Mike Lewis accepted an award on behalf of General Bearing Corporation.
