Invacare and GBC Meet Increased Customer Demand

General Bearing Corporation and Invacare are partnered together to help Invacare improve their leadership position in the $6 Billion market for home medical products.

Invacare is headquartered in Elyria, OH and has manufacturing plants in the United States, Canada, Denmark, Germany, France, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. They group their products into four distinct categories (Standard, Rehab, Medical Supplies and Respiratory). General Bearing supplies product for the Standard, Rehab and Respiratory categories.

General Bearing Corporation's Sales and Demand Management teams work closely with the Invacare Buyer and Material Specialist to forecast their expected demands to meet their production schedule. As with most plans, things changed and we needed to work together to satisfy their customer requirements. Earlier this year on two separate occasions our Demand Manager was notified of an unscheduled increase of demand needed to maintain Invacare’s production schedule. The General Bearing Corporation Demand Management, Customer Service and Sales Departments pulled together and adjusted our production and shipping schedule to next day air adequate quantities of product to maintain Invacare’s production. They also made additional arrangements for the remainder of the increase to be shipped in a more economical way. The end result was that Invacare was able to satisfy an increase in their customer demand with limited additional costs.

General Bearing Corporation is pleased to partner with Invacare to balance the introduction of new products with increasing customer demand to achieve their goal of double-digit sales growth and achieve $2 Billion in sales by 2006. The folks at Invacare say it best, “Ready, Set, Grow!”.
