| PETER WALLACK, HYATT RAILWAY PRODUCTS CONSULTANT, AND CHRISTOPHER FERRARI, PRODUCT MANAGER, RAILROAD, AT THE RSA CONVENTION. |
On display was the full range of Hyatt railway products. These included traction motor bearings for the traction motors on locomotives, journal box parts for use in locomotive wheels, and tapered journal bearings for railcars.
For nearly 100 years, the Hyatt name has been synonymous with the supply of quality products for the railroad industry. GBC's acquisition of the assets of Hyatt in 1987 continues the long tradition established by this former General Motors division.
Hyatt is presently a key supplier to many major railroads for traction motor bearings of both the commutater and pinion-end types for locomotive traction motors. The company is also the industry's leading supplier of journal boxes and journal box parts used as locomotive wheel bearings. Both of these products have long been cornerstones of the Hyatt railroad success.
Hyatt also participates in the rail-car wheel bearing market with its tapered journal bearings. Our line includes the 6 1/2" x 12" size for 100-ton applications and the 6" x 11" size for 70-ton applications. The soon-to-be released K-Class bearing will combine light weight and improved load capacity to make it the premier bearing of choice for freight car applications.
Participation in this major show has certainly helped to increase our exposure in the railway industry and the level of interest ran high. We are very enthusiastic about the positive feedback and interest from customers, both existing and potential. Our outlook remains extremely positive.
